Enighet
A t the great martial-arts club Enighet, founded 1892, Aikido was not on the schedule until 1991. Since then we have come a long way. Hundreds of people have taken their first steps in Aikido with us and several of them are still active in our club. We have held numerous workshops with our own instructors as well as with invited ones of both Swedish and Japanese elite. We also regularly attend different seminars both domestic and international. Below is a small sample of our activities outside ordinary training:
Nishio sensei, 8th danBetween 1992 and 1998, the internationally renown and highly respected aikidoteacher Nishio sensei, was an almost annual guest at Enighet. Nishio sensei is especially famous for his exceptionally broad knowledge of Budo. Except for being 8th dan aikikai he also held 7th dan Iaido, 6th dan Judo and 5th dan karatedo. Sadly, he passed away March 15, 2005.
Tamura sensei, 8th danTamura sensei first visited us in May 1998. His very appreciated seminar calls for further visits. Preliminary such a visit is scheduled for some time during the year 2000. Tamura sensei has been living in France since the 1960s and is counted as one among the most influential teachers of Aikido. Tamura sensei is active not only in France and Europe but also in numerous parts of the world.
Sugano sensei, 8th danSugano sensei is nowadays a resident of New York and is diligently working with the development of Aikido in the U.S. He has however a long tradition connected to Sweden and his workshop at Enighet is surely to be repeated in the future.
Minegishi sensei, 6th danMutsuko Minegishi sensei is one of the most advanced female instructors of Aikido. Her knowledge, energy and good spirits makes her an always-appreciated visitor at Enighet. Presently she is resident and active at the island Saipan and it's neighbouring islands in the Pacific.
The summer seminarEvery summer Enighet Aikido hosts a seminar where our main instructor Stefan Stenudd as well as invited guests is responsible for the training sessions. Among the guest-instructors have been: The pioneer of Swedish Aikido Jan Hermansson 6th dan who usually is present every year, Mouliko Halén 5th dan, Jan Nevelius 5th dan, das Berliner Mikael Eriksson 2nd dan and more.
Guest InstructorsFrom time to time, training sessions and weekend-workshops are held by invited guest-instructors. Among the many who have honoured our Dojo with their presence are: The foremost instructor of Ki-aikido Peter Spangfort 3rd dan Ki & 4th dan Aikikai, the Swedish Shihan of Iwama Ryu Ulf Evenås 6th dan Iwama and 5th dan Aikikai, Urban Aldenklint 5th dan & leader of the largest Aikido dojo in Sweden; Iyasaka, the national instructor of Ju-jutsu Hans Greger 8th dan Ju-jutsu, The French instructor & Czech Aikido builder Daniel Valiant 5th dan, the former president of Finish Aikido Harry Rautila 4th dan Aikikai, and many others.
Scanian WorkshopsIn co-operation with Scanian Aikikai, workshops are regularly arranged amidst the membership clubs. Sometimes the seminars are held at Enighet and othertimes they are held at Kristianstad, Trelleborg or Helsingborg. We also have had workshops at the island of Ven with outdoor-training of jo, bokken and Iaido
BerlinA couple of times a year we travel to Berlin and our sister club Tanden where Stefan Stenudd holds seminars. The members of Tanden naturally frequent our seminars in Sweden.
Czech RepublicSince 1991, Stefan Stenudd has regularly been holding seminars in the Czech Republic, often accompanied by other members of Enighet & other Scanian clubs. 1999 a workshop was also held in Slovakia, an event that is surely to be repeated in the future.
